With body made of metal, smartphone has the visual one of their strengths
Since the launch of the iPhone, the Samsung was the only manufacturer that has managed to rival Apple in sales. For some years, packaged by the success of the line Galaxy, the Korean company is the absolute leader in sales of smartphones in the world.
Tests of the Ascend P7, Bike Maxx, 6 Plus iPhone and other smartphones
However, during this time, a criticism around the company’s Smartphone: humorless and design utility, with use of plastic materials and fragile caps even in more expensive models. With the Galaxy series, Samsung shows that heard the criticism. The devices in this series have bodies built in metal and are clearly more elegant than other appliances in the company. The iG has tested the Galaxy A3 (R $1,100), with 4.5-inch screen. Check out the prints.
-good camera for selfies.
-Does not allow access to the battery;
-Configuration similar to cheaper rivals.
The visual is the biggest difference from A3 to other appliances in the Galaxy line. No sign of the fragile plastic cap on the back of Samsung devices feature (present even in expensive models, such as the Note 4).
In A3, the back is metal, sleek and closed, without removable cover. The carrier chip and the memory card are embedded in discretíssimas side doors, as on the iPhone and other devices more elegant.
There is, however, a downside. With the boom closed, the A3 does not allow access to the battery, an important factor for certain people and that is a differential of other appliances in the Galaxy line.
In addition to the back, the side of the A3 is also made of metal. The metal frame leaves the appliance more robust and passes more confidence when holding the smartphone.
Configuration and system
The A3 has an intermediate configuration, with 410 quad-core Snapdragon chip 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of memory. This setting is enough to run well all the most common applications and even some games more “heavy”.
In benchmarks, the A3 had similar performance to other intermediate devices, such as the 5, Zenfone from Asus. Were 21,498 points at AnTuTu; 1,844 in Vellamo HTML5; 966 in Metal and 1,187 Vellamo in Vellamo Multicore. Generally speaking, are good values, compatible with your equipment category.
The A3 has 4.5 inch screen and resolution (960 x 540) qHD. Most demanding users may complain about the lack of a Full HD resolution, but the truth is that for screens of this size the qHD works very well. A higher resolution would not bring relevant benefits and just increase the power consumption.
Like the other models of the Alpha line, the A3 comes with version 4.4.4 of Android with TouchWiz interface, old acquaintance who ever used a cell phone Galaxy.
Samsung did not comment officially about an update to the Android 5.0 (Lollipop), but because it’s a new series, it is very likely that the A3 wins an update to the latest Android in the coming months.

Samsung has always been criticized for clutter their smartphones with apps duplicate and sometimes useless, but it should be recognized that in recent phones this approach was reduced. I can tell you that Samsung is in the average of the other manufacturers, with one or another app itself.
On camera, the highlights are for the front, used for selfies. In addition to 5 Megapixel resolution, larger than average, she brings a lens that captures a larger area than usual. The application of selfies also brings a fun feature to create GIFs with the front camera. The 8-megapixel rear camera is on average, which means that it is enough to take pictures of good quality in the most common situations.
In tests of the iG, the A3 ‘s battery lasted about 8 hours with full screen video, glitter tops and Wi-Fi turned on. Is a very good value, above the average of 6:30 of other devices in the same test.
With the A3 (and their big brothers, A5 and A7), Samsung shows that finally took seriously the criticisms made to the design of its equipment in recent years. In a market increasingly played and with basic devices already enough to appeal to most users, the design is a factor that gains importance in the differentiation of the brand, and the series the Galaxy shows that.
But who doesn’t care so much about the design or for selfies perfect can spend less on competitors with similar configuration, as other models in the line Galaxy or smartphones as Bike G and Zenfone 5, among other options.
